I recently found an interesting case study of how one company is using Azure Cloud and Azure NetApp files to help them reach net zero emissions by 2050. The company is Repsol, a global energy company based in Madrid, and it has launched more than 280 digital transformation projects with 40 strategy partners to reach its sustainability goals.
At Repsol, sustainability began with improving drilling operations efficiency. Microsoft Azure high-performance computing (HPC) with AzureNetAppFiles is used to power a high-performance reservoir simulation system that has significantly improved their ability to target exploration locations. Simulations are running considerably faster, increasing from as little as a single run per day to hundreds per day.
More runs, better insights. Better insights, data-driven culture.
